Skip is a 4-year-old red Australian Cattle Dog in search of a loving, active home. He thrives in a spacious yard where he can run, explore, and play fetch with tennis balls and frisbees.

Ideal Home

Skip will do best with an individual or family with teens who can match his energy and intelligence. A fenced yard and an active lifestyle are strongly preferred. Experience with Australian Cattle Dogs is a plus.

Personality

Skip is a loyal, highly intelligent, and people-oriented companion. He responds best to positive reinforcement and attention. He loves trail running, exploring the woods, and splashing through creeks. After a full day of activity, he settles in nicely in the evening.

Good With

Skip was raised with older children, house cats, and backyard chickens. He also does well staying with other playful dogs (and their owners) when his family is out of town. There was an incident: Nipping an 8 yo in the lower leg while the child was running in the house. Did not break the skin.

Training

Skip is very smart and knows basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “leave it.” He is leash-trained, crate-trained, and house-trained.

Health

Neutered at 16 months and up to date on all vaccinations. Full veterinary records are available upon request. He has AKC limited registration.

I have had an unexpected life change that is limiting my ability to give Skip the home he deserves. I can share more details with potential people making serious inquiries. I am willing to transport within 3 hours of central New York and discuss options for people with interest further than that. I am not seeking any fees just a good loving home for Skip.
