Saki is a 2.5 year old, 65 lb. spayed female mix in Houston, TX
Saki was found in Houston, Texas on January 20, a night before it snowed and sub freezing temperatures were predicted. She is a 60lb. Red Heeler who is estimated to be approximately 2.5 years old.
Saki is a very active girl who loves to play, but has spent the last two months on crate rest recovering from heartworm treatment, which she has completed along with being spayed.
She is very prey driven, so I wouldn't place her with cats or even small, fluffy dogs that she might mistake for squirrels or possums. She gets along with my male pugs, but would be a fantastic only dog. When we found her, she had been attacked and was covered in scabs and scars. She does not do well with aggressive, in your face animals. Saki was attacked by a female pug and retaliated causing the pug to require surgical intervention. She gets along with other male pugs in the house.
Saki is completely house trained and now that she is finished with heartworm treatment, we are working on basic command training. She is very food driven, so that helps. She will definitely need a fence.
We were hoping that Saki might fit into our pack, but she needs more than our small back yard and honestly, our female pug hates her and won't stop attacked her. I am asking for a small rehoming fee or donation to PugHearts of Houston Pug Rescue. I will also check vet references. I am willing to transport Saki to the right people, wherever they might be. This girl deserves a great forever.
