Maple is an 8 year old, 54 lb. spayed female in Neptune Beach, FL

Maple is an ACD mix: she's a very active dog who loves the frisbee and tennis balls. She could swim at the beach every day if possible. We love Maple but she really needs a home without other dogs or young children (but possibly older children). We adopted her as a puppy and when we had a child, she seemed to grow very anxious. This anxiety has worsened as our child has grown more mobile and she would be so much happier without a toddler around.

 

She also seems to thrive as an only dog as she doesn't get long with our senior dog. A home without dogs would be her ideal situation; when our older senior dog is out of the house, she is a different dog. For this reason, we're looking to find her a home where she can thrive and expend all her energy without nervousness and anxiety.

 

She currently lives in a home with a big fenced backyard but she also loves long walks or runs. She is housetrained, walks great on a leash, and knows her basic commands.

I will evaluate potential adopters through email and phone; a video call would be ideal so we can see what kind of life she may be adopted into. We can provide transport assistance. We would also ask for an adoption fee of $50 to be donated directly the ACD Rescue Association.
