Lily is a 7 year old. 32 lb. spayed female in Redwood City, CA
Hi! It absolutely breaks my heart to write this, but I’m looking for a new home for my dog, Lily.
Lily is an Australian Cattle Dog, approximately 7 years old (adopted 2 years ago). She is truly one of the sweetest, most special dogs I’ve ever known. She is gentle, affectionate, incredibly smart, and on the lazier side for her ACDs. If you pet her and rub her belly, she will love you forever.
A little more about Lily:
She has zero behavioral issues
Walks beautifully on a leash (has been trained to stop pulling)
Good with other dogs (she is submissive) and wonderful with kids
Very quiet. Only gives a soft bark if someone knocks
Excellent recall and listening skills
Not destructive at all
Extremely food-motivated (she LOVES apples, her favorite snack)
Does not nip (despite the breed stereotype)
Crate trained (sleeps in her crate every night and loves it)
Up to date on all vaccines, flea & tick medicine
Spayed
Loves humans and visitors in the home
She prefers exploring and sniffing over vigorous exercise
She has hypothyroidism. Easily managed with 1 daily pill and a yearly vet check-up with bloodwork
This decision hasn’t come easily. About a year ago, I started a new job with a very long commute and demanding hours, and despite trying everything (dog walkers, daycare, adjusting my schedule) I’m no longer able to give Lily the time, exercise, and mental stimulation she deserves. I am also being transferred to another office across the country next year. She deserves a life where she’s not alone for 12+ hours a day, and as hard as it is, I know I need to put her first.
