Koda is a 4 year old, 42 lb. neutered male in Drums, PA
Koda is a loving, playful, high-energy dog who truly enjoys being part of a family. He loves our children and the friends they have over, and he is very friendly with other dogs. He loves to play, run, and be included in daily activity.
He would do best with an active family or individual who has plenty of time to give him attention, exercise, and companionship. A home with space to run and someone who can regularly play with him would be ideal. We do not have a fenced yard, but we have four acres where he enjoys running around. He should be supervised outdoors because he may wander into a neighboring yard if left unattended, although he comes back immediately when called.
He is fully housebroken and has accidents only very rarely. Sometimes, when people he knows come into the house, he gets so excited that he may dribble a little urine. He is crate trained and is healthy, current on all vaccinations, and does very well at his boarding kennel when we travel. The kennel staff love him, and he has always done well there.
He has a lot of energy and needs more exercise and one-on-one attention than our family is currently able to provide. With busy school schedules, children’s sports, and frequent work travel, we have made the very difficult decision to find him a home where he can get the time, activity, and attention he deserves. We love him very much, especially our children, and this decision is being made because we believe it is what is best for him.
He has shown some reactive behavior toward unfamiliar people entering our home. On one occasion, he snapped/nipped at one of my son’s friends’ parents when they came to drop off their child. The nip was to the hand and slightly broke the skin, but it was minor and did not require medical care or cause significant bruising.
This behavior appears limited to unfamiliar people entering the house. He is very affectionate with people he knows and with guests who are already inside the home. He is friendly with other dogs and does well with my son’s friends and other children he knows.
We will carefully consider potential adopters to make sure they can provide a loving, stable home and meet his need for regular exercise, play, and attention. There is no adoption fee or required donation; our priority is finding the right family for him.
