Finn is a 1.6 year old, 40 lb. neutered male in Plymouth, MA.
Finn loves to play ball, run with his owner, swim and hike. He is up to date on everything, has been neutered and has never had an accident in the house. He walks well on a leash and stays right with you off leash.
He's a handsome and very intelligent young man that is loyal and protective as most ACD's. Finn suffers from severe anxiety over sounds such as trucks backing up or fireworks or motor cycles, etc. He will hide behind the furniture or in his crate. He also has guarding behavior that I have been working on with a trainer. However, he guards people other than myself when in the house to the point of intimidation. He is now guarding my adult son when he visits.
Finn will need a patient and disciplined owner that will respect his mental health issues and continue to work with a behavioral specialist. He does like men and women and children, and he gets along well with other dogs. He's had no experience with cats. My senior female ACD just passed away, and she was quite dominant. Finn was always gentle and respectful of her, so he could easily be a companion to another dog.
I'm going to carefully evaluate potential adopters. Ideally, the person will be experienced with ACD's and with a anxiety issues and will have room for him to play and exercise. I am not asking for an adoption fee but would prefer that you consider donating to a rescue organization.
Finn lives on the South Shore of MA.
