Elly is a 2 year old, 30 lb. spayed female in Cleves, OH
Elly is a loving and loyal blue heeler who forms deep bonds with her person. She has a big heart and shows her affection through devotion and closeness, especially once she feels safe and secure. Elly truly shines in a calm, consistent environment where she can be someone’s one‑and‑only. She would do best as the only dog, as she struggles with competition from other dogs.
She was an only dog of my boyfriend and we decided to move in together. I have 2 dogs,1 male and one female. She and my other female dog have gotten into aggressive fights where blood was drawn. My dog is 7 years old and the weaker one and I fear she will get seriously hurt. It's usually over me or food/treats. Elly is a very dominant dog and she believes I am only her mom and the other 2 cannot get near me. I have to keep the 2 females apart at all times. Which is not fair to either of them. We had never owned a herding dog before and should have done the research. She needs a job to do. It pains us to rehome her but has come down to that. We have tried for 7 months.
Elly has not been around cats or children, so a quieter adult home would likely suit her best. She is crate trained, and having her own space gives her comfort and structure. This decision was made with Elly’s best interests at heart. She is very loved, and the hope is that she can find a home that understands her needs and cherishes the loyalty and affection she has so much of. In the right home, Elly will be an incredibly devoted companion.
