Dapple is a 3 year old, 55 lb. spayed female in Oneonta, NY

Dapple is a frisbee champion with a great sense of humor. She is looking for an agility partner who has an active lifestyle - someone who enjoys exploring and finding new activities. Dapple would be stoked to learn new tricks with you!

Dapple's owner has been struggling with PTSD after a pitbull attack and needs Dapple to enjoy the world while she recovers.

She is very high energy but will settle if she's spent time working her brain.

She is house, crate, and leash trained, and knows the words of many of her toys and games. She should live in a fenced yard, as she needs to run.

Dapple likes to hang back before greeting people, but once you're in her Rolodex she's very loving.

She has been good with most dogs she's met if introduced slowly. She has been to dog daycare and has played with other dogs at a sitter's. She should be with larger dogs, as she plays rough.

She has dog friends and has been on walks with dogs, gone to a sitter who has a dog, and played with dogs when introduced slowly. Recently she got in a fight at a dog park and hurt the dog's ear. Every trainer I spoke to thinks it was because she was trying to work (ball is work) and the dog kept jumping on her to play.) She also snapped at a small dog, also recently, who was trying to play, this was at the foster's. Until these two events, I would have had no trouble saying she was good with dogs, I'm not sure what these events mean. She has seen two trainers while at the foster's who think she is good and shows potential, and the foster doesn't think she is "dog aggressive," just not good with small dogs or dogs who are "annoying" to her.

She has been good with chickens and cats, as well as other farm animals.

Dapple has been good with the few kids she has met but she is a herding dog and should be with teens or in a childfree home, as she lives her life with great gusto.

Dappy recently met two agility trainers who think she has a lot of potential. She is spayed and current on vaccines. She is a 3 year old border collie cattle dog mix and weighs 50 pounds. If you are an experienced owner looking for a champion, Dapple is the one for you.

She does not like when people greet her and immediately stick their hand in her face. She has done well when people kind of ignore her and she then goes over to them. She has never bitten a person but used to give a warning growly face when they approached her before we spoke to a trainer. This was a year ago, no issues at the foster.

Veterinary references are required, as well as a donation of $50 to the Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association. We are willing to travel about 2 hours from Oneonta, NY.
