Cooper is a 3 year old, 50 lb. neutered male in San Antonio, TX
It is with a heavy heart that I have to rehome my dog, Cooper. He is a loyal and loving Heeler with a heart full of love, a playful spirit, and eyes that light up when he sees you. That’s Cooper, a 3 year-old, 50 lb. Red Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) who is ready to find his forever home.
He was born on May 10, 2022, and is as intelligent as he is handsome, with a striking, red-speckled coat and an eager personality. Cooper is neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on his vaccinations, he’s healthy and ready to embark on his next chapter with someone who will give him the love and attention he deserves. He currently lives in San Antonio, TX.
Cooper is the definition of a loyal companion. He thrives on affection and will happily soak up belly rubs, long walks, and playtime with his favorite ball or frisbee. Rolling in the grass is one of his simple joys, and he’ll always greet with you with a wagging tail and loving gaze.
He is well mannered too and knows basic commands, is house-trained, and crate trained. Cooper is not the kind of dog who barks at every little thing, he only barks when the doorbell rings or when there’s a knock at the door. With medium energy levels, Cooper enjoys staying active but also knows how to relax after a fun day of play. He’s the perfect mix of spirited and sweet, a dog who will keep you moving but also cuddle up beside you when it’s time to unwind.
Like all dogs, Cooper has his quirks. He’s not fond of loud noises like vacuum cleaners or power tools, and on garbage days he stays close to you due to the loud noise the pick-up makes. While he loves meeting new people and being petted by strangers, he can get skittish when other dogs bark or growl at him. Cooper has had some challenges with resource guarding in the past, which has led to minor bites on hand and arms (none requiring medical attention). These incidents occurred when he felt someone was going to take away something he valued, like a toy or treat. Because of this behavior, Cooper would do best in a home without small children and with an owner who has experience working with dogs or is willing to invest time in training to help him overcome this habit.
Cooper would thrive in a home where he can get the exercise and mental stimulation that he needs. He needs an owner who understands his breed and can provide him with consistent training, structure, and plenty of love. A yard where he can run and play is essential for this active boy. While Cooper has had some challenges in the past, he is eager to learn and grow with the right person by his side. With patience, understanding, and a commitment to helping him feel secure, Cooper will reward you with unwavering loyalty and affection.
I love Cooper so much but due to my new hectic work with travel schedule and being a single household, I can no longer provide him with the home that he needs. Cooper is waiting for you.
