Meet Charlotte — a 1.5-year-old, bright-eyed, big-hearted Texas Heeler with a sharp mind, a love for fetch, and a soft spot for cozy couch cuddles. Whether she’s chasing a ball, learning a new cue, or settling in beside her favorite people, Charlotte brings enthusiasm, loyalty, and heart to everything she does.

Her command vocabulary is impressive—leave it, wait, come, “bye-bye” (for potty outside), walk—and she picks up new cues quickly. She thrives with structure and consistency and adapts well to new routines.

​

On leash, Charlotte can be a bit challenging at times, especially when excitement takes over. She may pull when something captures her attention or when playtime is near. With continued leash training and enrichment to engage her active mind, she will continue to improve and shine. She’s looking for a home committed to helping her grow and build on her strong foundation.

​

At home, Charlotte shows her affectionate side. After a day of activity, she loves curling up on the couch with her people. She forms deep bonds and is incredibly loyal to those she trusts. She has previously lived with a senior Labrador and a senior poodle, where they coexisted peacefully. She has also shown curiosity toward a small parrot and would require supervision around smaller animals.

 

Charlotte is missing her right eye. She was swatted by a cat and unfortunately, its claw caught her eye and it had to be removed. She has adapted very well without it.

Charlotte can be cautious with unfamiliar people entering her space and may try to herd visitors. She typically needs a little time to warm up, but once she builds trust, her loyalty is unwavering.

​

She has done well with crate training in her current home. While she may do best in a home that doesn’t rely heavily on crating, having a crate available for occasional use is beneficial.
