Bean is a 3 year old, 30 lb. spayed female mix in Philadelphia, PA

This is an incredibly hard decision, but I am looking for the right forever home for my 3-year-old Blue Heeler.

She spent the first three years of her life in Oklahoma and recently relocated to Philadelphia. Like many heelers, she is highly intelligent, loyal, and deeply bonded to her person. She thrives on structure, routine, and having a clear role, and she is happiest when she has space to decompress and a consistent human she can trust.

Since the move and change in environment, she has struggled with reactivity, particularly toward other dogs in the home and unfamiliar people entering the house. She is wary of strangers and becomes overwhelmed in busy or confined environments. Despite training efforts, managing her needs in a city setting and a multi-dog household has become more than I can safely handle.

Ideal Home:

  • Large property or rural setting with plenty of land

  • No other dogs

  • No children

  • A single, experienced dog owner

  • Someone who is home most of the time

  • Experience with herding breeds and reactive dogs is a must

She is not a “bad dog”—she is a sensitive, working breed who needs the right environment to succeed. In the correct setting, with an experienced and committed handler, she has the potential to be an incredibly devoted companion.

For transparency, she does have a bite history from her time in Oklahoma, which is why I am trying everything I can to avoid euthanasia. Her safety, and the safety of others, is my top priority.

There were 3 that did not break the skin and 3 that did. The first 3 did not and the last 3 did break the skin. 5 of them were in the house she was residing in. The other one was at a friends house. All of the bites were on the lower half of the body and were quick snaps. She never latched and held onto anyone. They were all adults.

This decision comes from a place of love and responsibility. I’m seeking someone who understands the breed, respects her boundaries, and can give her the calm, structured life she deserves.

Please reach out only if you feel you are a truly good fit and have experience with dogs like her. I’m committed to finding her the best possible match.

She will come with all of her supplies and I can bring her to you.
