Simone is a 2-3 year old, 31 lb. spayed female in Catskill, NY.

Simone is a loving, affectionate, playful  and charming companion, and ready for any outing you can come up with,  she’ll be there with leash in hand!

Her story: She began her journey in rescue homes, after walking out of the woods in SC, parking herself on a man’s deck, where she stayed for a month while he looked for owner’s ads to no avail, then he brought her to a local shelter, then a NY rescue group brought her up north.

Simone bonds with a few people, especially women. She has the typical endearing ACD traits: keen intelligence, attentiveness, loyalty, the ability to defy gravity, strong-headed when she wants to do something, bossy with other dogs, and the requisite nipping to communicate her desires to play, go out, and eat. She is a high energy young ACD, who also loves to cuddle on the couch. Simone likes the outside deck, but would rather be near us than alone, she is a Velcro girl.  Simone is leash trained, she plays well with our 2 dogs, especially the larger hound.

Simone is housebroken, and does well when crated, and is fine in a car.  She is in training (Obedience and Nothing Free In Life), and she’s a fast learner, seems to enjoy the challenge. Simone would excel at advanced Obedience or Agility.

Her former Foster folks said she was farm animal safe. She was ok meeting my cat, but then my cat attacked her and now she seriously doesn’t like him, which is why I can’t keep her.

As sweet as she is, she’s fiercely protective of her space, be it a room, front door, the gate on the deck, or out on a public street.Simone has hard nipped 3 people on the lower leg, she lunges forward and back out after nipping.  Simone appears to have had a litter in her prior life before coming into foster care, and this fear aggression may stem from protecting her pups at a young age herself,  and probably being outside behind a fence.

A trainer with ACD, or Border Collie experience is necessary and it would take patience and a commitment to reset her while giving her safety & security - and then you would be the lucky person with a fantastic companion.

**Simone is longing to be the only pet in a home with her person, and a fence. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, chipped and up-to-date on Flea/Tick/Heartworm monthlies.

**An adopter needs to live within New England to meet Simone in mid Hudson Valley, NY prior to adoption. Her fee is $250.

Simone is in Catskill, NY.
