Shay is a 2 year old, 45 lb. spayed female in Inwood, WV.
Shay knows basic commands, is housebroken and crate trained. She is a sweet, active girl when in the safety of her home and with people she knows. Shay currently lives with 3 cats and a beagle. She gets along great with her dog sister but took a few weeks to warm up to her. Her cat brothers are a different story. Shay needs to be re-directed from the cats otherwise her herding instinct kicks in.
Shay has completed 3 levels of training classes and attends a weekly social class with other dogs at her trainers. She interacts well with the dogs in her group and has made friends. Until recently Shay has enjoying camping, hiking, farmers markets and eating out with her family.
Over the past few months Shay has gotten extremely reactive both while on and off her leash. She will pull and bark when she is scared of her surroundings. High value treats seem to get her attention to refocus her. Shay will do best in a home that isn’t in a townhome community. She needs the ability to run and walk without the fear of off lead dogs, stray cats, and children on bikes. She can be shy at first and needs time to warm up to new things.
Shay's perfect home would be one where she can run and play without the worry of if a cat will pop out of a bush or a dog will chase after her down the street. She has lived with children with no issue. She will do best with an experienced cattle dog owner as well she's a typical cattle dog. I'm willing to travel to make sure that Shay is placed in the correct home. A home that can provide her the calm environment and place to live her life without stress.
Shay is in Inwood, WV (eastern panhandle)
