Rufus is a 1.5 year old, 35 lb. neutered male in Towson, MD.
Rufus is a Blue Heeler ACD. He is a year and a half young. Rufus is completely housebroken and is crate trained. He is brilliant and quickly learns new tricks. He is a very high-energy dog. He would do best in a setting with lots of land to run freely on. He is very healthy, up to date on his vaccines, microchipped, and neutered.
We rescued Rufus a little over a year ago. We also have a second Blue Heeler ACD rescue. Rufus has been in our home with 4 children and our other dog; however, he would do best in a no-children, no-other-animal home. He can be very jealous. He loves a good belly rub and evening snuggle. He loves to roll over and play dead for a treat, play a good game of tug-of-war on a rope, and give his paw for a handshake.
The decision to rehome Rufus has been a challenging one. We love him but know we can not give him the home he needs and deserves. We live in a suburban area and have a fenced yard. Rufus needs space and a one-dog home, preferably with no children. He has had aggressive behavior toward neighborhood dogs. This aggression has been unprovoked. Despite intense training, with the guidance of a dog behavioral specialist, we have been unable to break him of this behavior. We know he wants to be a good boy; we cannot provide him the setting he needs to live his best life, and he deserves happiness.
If you think you may be the right person to love Rufus in a way that allows him to be his best self, don't hesitate to contact us. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns or want more information.
