Rory is a 1.5 year old, 43 lb. neutered male in Louisville, KY.
Rory is a farm dog! I am looking for a new home for him because of no fault of his own, I have fallen under extremely hard times and unfortunately do not have the resources to care for him any longer.
He is selective with other dogs off leash, but he is a dominant dog so he would need to be the only dog in the house, only be in a house with female dogs, or with a handler that knows how to introduce a dominant dog to their pack. He does good with older children, but with his breed and energy levels he may knock over smaller children and it could be an issue. Seems indifferent about cats, but he has not lived with them.
A fenced yard would be required, but he does have leash/fence reactivity. With proper training it has gotten better, so that would need to be continued. He is extremely intelligent and picks up on things very quickly, and knows a lot of fun commands. He knows sit, stay, down, place, spin, between (walk between your legs), speak along with hush, and he will also kill bugs for you if you ask him to.
Rory does have his quirks, much like a heeler, and would need an experienced handler to adopt him and not let him "be the boss". He is a typical heeler and can give some attitude at times, but rest assured he has never tried to snap at or bite anyone. He has a very sweet disposition but can be a bit grumpy when something makes him uncomfortable, which is why he needs an experienced handler. He does well with strangers, but is very protective of his home.
Rory is in Louisville, KY.
