Roo is a 6 year old, 45 lb. neutered male in Providence Forge, VA.

We rescued our little Roo, mix Australian Cattle Dog, from a North Carolina kill shelter about 6 weeks ago. We saw his picture and found out he was scheduled to be euthanized in 48 hours. We arranged to have him delivered to us. Unfortunately, our older English Cream Golden Retriever has not adjusted to having Roo as part of the family. There haven’t been any fights, just anxiety for our older dog. Roo’s natural instinct is to herd other animals. Our older dog doesn’t want to be herded by some young kid.

He is deaf but is learning some hand commands (sit, come and no). We also use a vibrating dog collar (absolutely no shocking) on him so we can get his attention. Roo is extremely friendly and loves to meet new people. Follows us everywhere and enjoys retrieving the tennis ball in our backyard play time.
He needs a loving family that wants a loyal and loving dog. Roo will cuddle with you on the bed, couch or anywhere you permit.
