Reggie is a 1 year old, 45 lb. neutered male in Little Rock, AR.

Meet Reggie the red heeler! Reggie is approximately one year of age and loves to snuggle, play with toys, and go on walks. He definitely wants to be someone’s forever Velcro dog and doesn’t like being alone.

Reggie was on a Dallas shelter’s euthanasia list and was rescued, but the shelter would not do kid/dog/cat testing so it was a bit of a blind jump. Unfortunately, he isn’t a fan of younger kids and really hates cats which is why he needs a new family without them.

He has nipped at a child when the child was grabbing a toy from him, but he did not break skin. I was typical heeler nipping, but it's too much for a child.

Reggie has a high prey drive, he is also hit-or-miss around other male dogs (females are fine). He really loves adults and female dogs, especially if they’re playful.

He's a typical herding dog that needs training on how to not herd humans.

He is neutered, up to date on shots, and is heart-worm negative. He is chipped but it isn’t registered yet.

He's not fond of the crate but this could be because of his shelter background. He will bark and whine in the beginning, but will eventually calm down.

He’s very smart and can open things with his snout sometimes, and has just learned to sit.

He would do well with someone experienced with the breed who is willing to train him and/or give him a job, as he does have a high energy level. Having a female playmate would also help him get out his energy.

He is a very sweet boy and full of potential.
