The only thing bigger than Packer's ears is his personality! He's a goofy, loving, low-maintenance, yet high-energy pup who loves adventure and playing. He's 3 years young and finally coming out of his puppy stages.
Packer is up to date on his vaccines, fixed, house-trained and rarely barks. He plays great with other dogs after some warming up. While he has been through several training classes, he does need some work on leash. He definitely is obedient but tends to pull (part of the natural herding abilities). He knows the basic commands, sit, paw, stay, etc. He is also very familiar with group boarding and crate situations.
Packer would make a great family dog (he grew up around small children and cats) or a furry companion. Packer's favorite pastime is car rides, playing ball or tug of war and chasing squirrels. He would thrive in an environment that allows for lots of running, a big yard is preferred.
He is the perfect dog ... so why is there a need for rehoming? During the pandemic, I began fostering Packer from a family in California. I was home 24/7 and was living in a house with a backyard. In a turn of events unforeseen to me, I have since moved to a smaller studio apartment and have started going back to the office for 10+ hours a day. While I had all intentions of adopting Packer and tried my best to make this situation work, this is not a fun life for a dog, especially a cattle dog. It breaks my heart knowing I can no longer give Packer the life he deserves. He is a happy dog, but I know he has so much more potential for a great life.
I want Packer to go to a great home and would love to answer any and all questions you may have!
