Oakleigh currently lives in Tuscaloosa County in Alabama. She was recently orphaned when her human daddy passed away. She is an inside dog and is super smart. She loves people and she loves playing fetch, especially her stuffed mallard duck.

 

She does not currently tolerate other dog. She is, at the moment, heartworm positive (treatment begun 9/18) but in all other ways she is healthy.

 

She is spayed, has had all her shots updated, She loves lots of play time and belly rubs with her people. She also loves riding shotgun! We are looking for a loving forever home for her that can provide her with love and understanding and minus the anxiety of having other dogs in her home (we currently have 7 others).

 

We are covering her heartworm treatment. Full disclosure, we acquired her with another dog she wasn’t familiar with and had no idea how she reacted. They played well together for an afternoon and then early evening there was a fight. She was upset because the other dog got to the ball before her. It required surgery for the attacked dog. All is well now that we know but our home is probably a nightmare for her stress-wise. So seriously no other dogs within her reach. She did not have other dogs in her original home and is used to being spoiled.  

 

Admittedly we are in over our heads on this one but adore her. We have no experience with a Heeler and just know that here is not her forever home. :-(
