Monte is a sweet and loving 4 year old Cattle Dog/Husky mix. He weighs approximately 60 lbs, despite his small frame!
He is completely house trained, knows all basic commands, and is very food motivated, so he responds very well to learning new things. He is also VERY smart! As much as he loves being outside for walks or running in the yard, Monte's favorite thing is cuddling up on the couch next to you. He does well off leash, but we would recommend he go to a home with a fenced yard, as he would love the opportunity to run and chase a ball with you.
Monte gets along well with other dogs (he especially loves to chase and be chased), but would prefer his space once he's done playing. He has not been around cats. While he is such a loving boy, we would recommend he go to a home without young children as he would not like it if a child accidentally took something away from him (without trading first).
Unfortunately, due to a newborn baby we have made the difficult decision to rehome him for this reason. Monte is a very smart boy, and would do best in a home with prior dog ownership experience. We are happy to assist in transportation for Monte to his new home, and will evaluate potential adopters through a phone evaluation about their prior dog ownership experience and home situation. We would ask for a small donation to a local rescue in lieu of a rehoming fee.
