Kira is a 1.5 year old, 45 lb. spayed female cattle dog mix in Au Sable Forks, NY.
Kira was born July 7th 2018, is spayed and microchipped. An Australian Shepard /Australian Cattle dog mix - both her parents were red, but both (accidental) litters were blue and silver. We adopted her after her first home fell through and the breeders couldn’t keep her.
She is good with kids (the breeders had small children and we have a crawling infant), sweet, smart, playful, super energetic and athletic. Likes other dogs but needs a lot of attention, and can get a little jealous if you are showing affection to anyone else. She is house broken, knows basic commands and is a quick learner. She also does fine on extended car trips.
She has exhibited typical heeled/puppy nipping, but more out of inability to distinguish between dog play and people play.
We live in a 200 acre working farm where she runs free with us during the work day alongside cows, chickens, goats and pigs. Despite all the physical activity her brain needs challenging, and this is where we fall short in our available time for brain stimulation. True to the breed, she extremely loyal. Unfortunately she needs more one on one than we can afford at the moment with our baby and having had to take on my parent’s dog in addition to our 5 year old heeler, Lincoln.
Optimally she would be in a single dog home with active folks who are ready to give her their full love and attention. She would make a really loving, wonderful best friend and adventure companion.
Kira is in Au Sable Forks, NY.
