Joey is a 7 month old, 39 lb. neutered male in Pittsburgh, PA.
Joey is an energetic and bouncy 7 month old Blue Heeler and Aussie mix. Birthday, Jan 5 2024. He loves walks and hiking, chasing, digging, chewing, obedience training, and watching TV. He loves to learn, and is food motivated.
Joey was a part of a litter whose mom was a rescue from Texas. He relocated to come live with us in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, he has been outgrowing our small home and needs more attention than our full time jobs and busy family allows.
Joey is fully house trained and crate trained, and he knows most basic commands - “come, sit, stay, drop it, leave it, up, down, gentle, and crate”. He is good on a leash, and well tempered on walks.
So far he has proven great with most all other dogs, and loves to play with older kids (but he was too much for the little ones under 7yrs old). And he did well when meeting goats and horses, although does not have experience with them yet.
Joey showed some resource guarding when he was young (maybe 3 or 4 months), but we had just gotten him and he was likely stressed. Otherwise, some obedience training has helped and we have not experienced more resource guarding in a while. But it is good to keep in mind.
He has not shown aggression with other animals other than typical Heeler behaviors such as egging them on to play and chase.
He did not have any professional training yet, but would soak it up like a sponge.
