Gracie is a 3 year old, 44 lb. spayed female mix in Clyde, NC.

Hi, I’m Gracie the pupper and I am looking for my next adventure in my furrever home!!!  I am really sweet and I loves to chase all the balls or whatever you throw and sometimes I brings it back and sometimes I want you to chase me!  I am so so fast you can’t catch this pupper!!!   I love to play with my brother doggo, but I need to take it a little slow until I know you and then we will have endless games of chase and I fool everyone where I will go next!!!  Hahahaha it’s great fun!!!  My sister is a meanie-doggo!  She likes to boss me around and I want to be boss now! I am tired of being picked on. We are now separated from each other because I have gotten scared and have bit her.

It takes me awhile to trust new people but once they give me treats and play ball I warm up!  I walk and run on the leash without pulling too!!!   I like more calm people versus children that move quickly. My mom & dad’s 3 yr old grandson comes over every week and I loves him a lot but I don’t know other kids.

I have been border collied by my older sister since I joined my current household.  She has herded me, bullied me, controlled me and I don’t like it anymore.   I now weigh 44 lbs and my head and jaw are stronger than her’s.  Since I am now the self proclaimed alpha protecting my people, our house and their things from everyone, have bitten my sister twice on the neck, and my mom accidentally got hurt by getting in the middle of us.  I was real sorry afterwards and peed and hid under the furniture.  I love my dog siblings and I love my people but sometimes at nighttime when I am tired and get surprised I growl and snap to tell them to leave me alone.  I did nip my hoomn brother to let him know not to touch me.  In the last 2 months in my daily training I sit for passing cars, sit on command, drop it, and I don’t bark at new people on my walks!  We also play games more and that helps me to be calmer too!I am also am happier now that Dilli is away from me!

-----------
Gracie has been with us since she came from our daughter’s litter of ACD/Border Collie mix. She has had to learn she is not the alpha in our family which took a lot of training!  We recently purchased a crate for her and she likes having her own place and It gives her a sense of security, safety and comfort which she desires.  Gracie loves to be with us and loves and needs attention and reassurance.

Up until recently she has gotten along with our other two dogs but has decided the Australian Sheppard is too bossy and is now defending herself but does not back down.

We have moved from a farm to a smaller parcel of land which she was used to free roam over 1,000 or so acres.  We do have her fenced in which she is tolerating well.  We are more intentional about her exercising!

In the last two years since she has been with us she has gotten into some interesting episodes.  She decided to bite the truck tire as it was rolling and she lost her lower canine and tooth next to it. (1st major vet appt). She thought it would be fun to grab one of the horses tail and run behind her but the next horse did not like that so she got popped in the side of her head!  The vet  said she has a very hard head!   Later that summer she was bitten by a timber rattlesnake and we almost lost her! ( 2nd major vet appt). She had a double dose of anti venom because her blood was coagulating. Very dangerous!  The vet tech crawled right into her crate with Gracie because she was so sweet and snuggled!

She has been spayed and is up to date on all vaccines! We love her and want her to have a safe and happy life.

She does need a fenced in area and either the only dog or a larger sweet male. We feel she would be best suited around older kids not younger ones and no small animals.  She would love to be in another farm with all the jobs to be done.  Highly intelligent and willing to learn!  Snacks go a long way!
