Doom is an observant, food-loving, sociable, goofy, and playful boy. He was first adopted at 9 months old and previous to this was rehomed multiple times for typical heeler behaviors. He is great with other dogs, is selective with humans, and is great around calm children. He’s house-trained, knows many tricks, learns quickly, and he’s excellent at breaking up tension between other dogs and can be the life of the dog park!

 

He’s a very healthy boy, though he’s shaped like a barrel and every time he even thinks about food he gains a kg of weight. It’s recommended he goes to a home experienced with heelers and where he can be a working dog on plenty of land.

Doom is a big nipper, he has nipped at ankles since we got him at 9 months old. His worst occurrence with his nipping occurred when he was being dog sat and the individuals had company over and it was very loud. There were young children brought over and one of the chosen was running away from Doom and he nipped his multiple times and because the child’s skin was so soft Doom broke skin.

We’re choosing to rehome him because we cannot give him the care he needs, as we live in the suburbs and both work with a new baby and consider it selfish to keep him from a happy life where he’s not restrained to a fenced in yard and days of primarily lounging due to lack of time and ability to stimulate him.

We don’t require a rehoming fee but we will require a home inspection to ensure he’s going to a good home and would like a week-long trial period with interested individuals.
