Completed a 2-week boarding training with House of Hounds K9 Training as of July 2024. Responds to commands with training e-collar best; Simple commands of "Sit", "Heel", "Down", "Place", "Crate", "Drop", "Leave-It", "Paw". Completely house broken, High-Drive, but will most certainly prefer to relax on the couch or his own dog bed. Dexter prefers to be either an only dog, or one of two in the house. Enjoys car rides, so long as he is riding shotgun. Very food driven, loves meal times and treats; Responds VERY well when food is on the line. Loves to be snuggled and pet every second of the day.

Fenced in yard would be a great place for him to run around.

Good with other dogs; Cats (Unsure); Adult and Older Children (Both Genders)
Supervision with small children and infants. Typical Heeler nipping; Never broken skin or required medical treatment. Dog's attention definitely on hands/arms.

We are making the heartbreaking decision to rehome our crazy man due to our schedules and growing family. We were sad to learn that he did not get along with our toddler as he started to move around (crawling and walking). And does not get the amount of attention that he wants and deserves. Dexter would thrive in an environment where he is happy and engaged, whether in a family with older kids, or on a farm chasing anything and everything that moves.
