Tillie is a very sweet, ~5 year old female red heeler.
We adopted Tilly back in November of this year. We weren't sure how she'd be with our house full-- dogs, cats, chickens, teenager and my husband.
She was surrendered by her previous owner and had been in the shelter for over 6 months, so she was really nervous. We have been working with her and she has come along nicely, but she has a serious prey drive with our cat.
She is very sweet and has a great, funny personality. Being 5, she's not as crazy and hyper as my previous cattle dog puppy, but she still loves to play. She's great with my 15 year old stepson and my rat terrier and loves my husband, even though she's still working on her trust issues.
We have a large, unfenced yard and Tilly will not leave your side. She is fantastic on leash and knows basic commands. We have been working with a behavioral specialist who has said Tilly would be exactly the type of dog she would adopt. She's very smart and intent on learning.
Tilly would be perfect in a home with no cats. She has bonded to me and seems to prefer women over men, but I can't be 100% as we have only had her for a few months.
Tilly would prefer a house without other female dogs. I have a senior female ACD who I've had for 13 years and she and Tilly tolerate each other, but would rather not have to interact.
Tillie lives in Brewster, MA. I would be happy to transport Tilly to her new home if it is on the east coast and would transport 1/2 way, within reason. I expect to meet her new family and hopefully see where she will live. I would ask a donation be given to the ACDRA to help other dogs in need, the amount can be discussed upon adoption. Tillie is up to date on all vaccinations.
