Charlie is a 1/5 year old, 48 lb. neutered male in Leominster, MA.

Charlie “CC” Mud Moonstone

CC is a very handsome, sweet, loving, smart, and protective Australian Cattle dog that has been extremely well loved since he was 7 weeks old. He absolutely loves to cuddle on the couch and give and receive hugs (he jumps up with his paws on your shoulder and buries his head in your chin). He has a great time running around the yard chasing birds, squirrels and fetching balls and he really enjoys long walks…and lots of treats. He is very energetic and is the most loyal companion. He is crate trained, leash trained, potty trained and does a few commands such as sit, lie down, paw and has solid recall unless other animals are in focus.

While it saddens us deeply to have to make the decision to rehome him, we know that he has not been living his best life in our household anymore due to his increased need for undivided attention. In our household the competing factors are 2 other dogs (one being CC’s brother), a cat, and our 4-year-old daughter. What brought us to this decision is that he began to compete for attention with our other dogs and our daughter. We are certain he will thrive in a calmer, quieter home with no children or other animals. He is, in fact, thriving as he has been staying (temporarily) next door with my in-laws and he has been incredibly calm and much less anxious. They have seen a big difference in his energy and demeanor. He is incredibly loving, and we just want to find him a family that will love him back.

Full disclosure, he has bitten one of our friend’s daughters and is showing unpredictability towards our daughter, which is why we want to find him a home without children or other animals.

He comes with his training leash and harness, crate, and some chew toys. CC is up to date on shots and vet visits (vet has told us he has a luxating patella- a kneecap that slips. He sometimes lifts his leg or favors it. Surgery is not required as he is not in pain and it doesn’t affect the function of his knee, but that arthritis may develop. He has never seemed to be in pain from it.)

Our family knows this is the right thing to do for him and we will make sure that where he goes, he will be loved and cared for like a family member.
