Cecil is an 8 year old neutered male blue heeler/lab mix who, through no fault of his own, needs to find a new home. He is located between the Poconos and Philadelphia in Pennsylvania.
Cecil is a mischievous, intelligent, and very affectionate boy who is crate trained and fully housebroken. He is up to date with vaccinations and has no medical history. He has gone through some obedience training but could use some work on his manners!
His favorite hobbies are puzzle boxes, chasing squirrels, and napping. He is very food motivated and learns new commands quickly in order to be rewarded. He also enjoys some nosework, but is mostly happy to lie in the sun and be pet.
Cecil recently moved with his owner from the Poconos where he had a large yard to a Philadelphia apartment, and the adjustment has not been easy. In addition to the location change, his owner has been increasingly unable to sufficiently keep up with his exercise and attention demands, and Cecil deserves better than what his owner is able to provide.
Cecil does well with older kids and other dogs, but some patience is required as he is excitable around new things. He has no experience with cats but has a high prey drive so some discretion is advised and a supervised introduction would be recommended. His excitement for new things mellows out quickly and he does very well with a routine.
Cecil would do best in any active home that would provide patience, discipline, and mental stimulation. A yard is a must and he will spend as much time outside as you will let him. Cecil will come with his crate, food, and all his belongings. We are happy to travel to you if you are within driving distance from eastern Pennsylvania, or he can be picked up in Philadelphia.
