Bluey is a 3 year old, 42 lb. neutered male in Valencia, CA
This is Bluey, an Australian cattle dog that is severely shy. I found him sitting quietly in the shelter days away from being put down. I don't have the yard or the time to take care of him, but I adopted him with the intention of finding him a good home.
He seems to have a rough start to life because he is very fearful when eating and seems to not be used to being allowed in the house. I do not want to force him in the house so he prefers to stay outside. He likes squeezing into tight corners and has started liking the crate I gave him.
He really likes chews and bone treats, the longer it takes him the better. He loves wet food and laying in the sun. He has slightly come out of his shell since I first received him, but he is still very fearful and stays to himself. So I don't know much else of what he likes. He is very scared of leashes and sudden movements or noises. He just has a sad look in his eyes that makes you want to help him.
As of now he is very scared of other dogs and growls if they get too close. He would not be good around young children until he is able to learn that life doesn't have to be scary. He needs an experienced adopter with a large yard and previous work with cattle dogs or shy dogs. I am not expecting any adoption fee and just want him to find a loving home. I
f the adopter lives within a 20 mile range of me I am willing to drive but if they aren't, I will pay for transportation. Please help Bluey find a loving home!
