Bella is a sweet and loyal Blue Heeler/Husky mix. She belonged to my step mother who recently passed away after a 10 month illness, and our family is unable to keep her. Bella loves to play and solve puzzles and games, and loves being active. She is a high energy dog, and needs to be with someone who can walk her and play with her every day.
She is a very sweet and loyal girl, being very protective and affectionate with her owners. She will act defensively with strangers who enter her space, barking a lot and warning them. If her owner there to tell her it's ok she will back off but will have a close eye on the new person. If the new person is comfortable, she will sense that and calm down, and even start warming up to them. She doesn't have much experience with children, but we have seen her act as if they are a stranger and bark at them. We think she might be ok with cats, but can't say for sure.
A long time ago she snapped at the neighbor, but did not break skin. She didn't know him and he approached her. She will tolerate other dogs, but will snap at them if they do something wrong. We have seen her warm up to a new dog in the house and even learn to play with him and share kisses with him, but she won't hesitate to put him in his place.
She enjoys long walks on a leash, but will bark at passersby and passing cars. She plays well in our yard without a leash as long as her owner is present.
